THE FISHER
Every evening
The eagle waits, watching
Hidden in the tallest tree
For the perfect time
To fish
Then it squawks
Chitters and dives in front of us
To rise, a wiggling trout in its talons
And soars away over the trees
Having approached us from the woods
A friend from town
Has stopped in to say Hi
But says instead
Did you plan that for me?
