WHY WOMEN WEAR POCKETS
because every day someone
asks for a tissue, coin, cough drop,
a safety pin
because we could use some place
to hold our keys, the to-do list,
the lone Xanax
because sometimes we’re shy
or angry or need somewhere
to hide our fists
because pockets
hold our
secrets.
WHAT SHOULD I PACK TO VISIT?
This is L.A., baby
wear anything you want
whenever you want
rhinestones and gold lame
leather and lace
teasing a peek
or covering every curve
fabulous hair and
designer sunglasses
gorgeous shoes
costumes, baby
not clothes
for men for women
because every day here
is another possibility
you could be
a STAR!
