Moonshadow Blue Jeans
I wear the Moonshadow blue jeans
with the flowery peasant blouse with puffy sleeves.
In the closet hangs my Gunne Sax dress,
romantic lace
cascading in flounces and ruffles.
In my dreams I wear Hang Ten,
hanging onto my surfboard by my nose.
I found Bonnie Belle at the downtown department store
Where I surreptitiously tried on white lipstick I saw advertised in Seventeen Magazine.
Dreams of white satin nights, a truck at the levy, and all the time kept in a bottle.
I wrote poems in my diary under the tree in the park.
I rode a bike to the swimming pool.
I read books.
I learned things.
Moonshadow blue jeans
black cats in cradles sleep
Love the silk white nights
